Mark EllisMark Ellis – The Knowledge Agency

Mark is an expert in media research and brand strategy, with senior management experience in the consultancy, advertising and broadcasting industries. He runs The Knowledge Agency, an innovative research agency specialising in digital and broadcast media. Earlier in his career he worked as the BBC’s Chief Adviser, Market and Audience Intelligence, responsible for overseeing the BBC’s annual £11m market research spend, and representing the BBC on the Board of Directors of BARB. Prior to joining the BBC, Mark worked as a Board Account Planner and Director of Brand Futures at the UK’s leading advertising agency, Abbott Mead Vickers•BBDO.

Verbal Identity creates language which creates value for their clients. Their services include brand narrative and strategy, tone of voice and social media conversation schemes. Verbal Identity uses Text Analytics for Marketing to discover unknown themes in consumer conversations. They enhance these findings using linguistics. The value loop is completed with a range of creative writing skills.

Chris West is a highly awarded copywriter and is one of the people who claims to have written the line “You never actually own a Patek Phillipe. You merely look after it for the next generation.”

He set up Verbal Identity in 2011 and the agency now has global clients from the hospitality, technology, auto manufacturing, fashion, brewing and distilling industries.
Chris also writes for the Sunday Times, is a columnist on the UK’s leading luxury magazine and wrote the screenplay for the Best Film at the Barcelona Film Festival.
